Amber Long has trademarked a sound that is svelte and uniquely hers, producing and performing live for nearly two decades.
Going by her own name, Amber Long is sought after and supported by big name artists and signed to well-known labels such as Bedrock, Armada, Global Underground, Perfecto, Darkroom Dubs, Sudbeat, Plattenbank, Einmusika and a host of others. Her lyrics and voice are well known in the Underground Music Community.
Long has performed live vocals at Ministry of Sound (UK), Bahrein Buenos Aires (ARG), Kashmir Lounge (NL) for Amsterdam Dance Event, at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto for Friday Night Live at the ROM, Hillside Festival, Canadian Music Week, in almost every live music venue in the Greater Toronto Area and many throughout North America.
As a DJ, she is known for her chunky, techy tunes and dark (but melodic) sound that tears up dance floors across the world. Long plays her own music, that of her label, Modern Agenda, and that of those she works with. You can catch her on her home turf in Toronto or Montreal at least a couple times a year but Amber Long doesn’t like to stay put.
Long broke into the International DJ scene playing at Ministry of Sound in London (UK) first, followed shortly thereafter with gigs in Doha, Qatar; Athens and Kavala, Greece; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Tel Aviv, Israel; Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata, Argentina; New York, Miami, Chicago and Boston in the USA; Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum , Mexico City, Mexico; Montego Bay in Jamaica. The list of international DJ gigs continues to grow each year with, most recently, a 6 gig tour in Mexico and visits to the UK and Netherlands planned later in 2018.
Amber Long is involved in her Toronto music community by being part of the Juno Awards Screening Committee for Dance Recording of the Year. She runs Toronto-based labels, Modern Agenda and Honey Drops and focuses on giving back to the artists. Modern Agenda is rapidly becoming a Beatport Top 100 Progressive House go-to label for music lovers and artists alike. Honey Drops carries a different flavor, encouraging artists to share their ambient and down tempo creations.
Check out her monthly radio show on FriskyRadio called Rogue, you can tune in the second Monday of each month at 5pm, EST. Amber Long also writes articles for Frisky News about subjects that touch on the Underground Music Community.
